Michael T. Stehman
REGION VICE PRESIDENT, WESTERN REGION
Michael Stehman has served as Region Vice President for our Western Region since March 2020. In his current role, Mr. Stehman is responsible for oversight of collection and landfill operations in Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, and Vermont. From January 2019 until March 2020, Mr. Stehman served as Western Region Vice President of Operations. Mr. Stehman joined Casella in 2014 as an Assistant Region Controller and was promoted to Region Controller in 2017. Prior to joining Casella Mr. Stehman spent a decade in the waste industry at Waste Management and Republic Services. Mr. Stehman earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Texas Tech University.
Robert J. Cappadona
REGION VICE PRESIDENT, RESOURCE SOLUTIONS
Robert Cappadona has served as our Region Vice President of Resource Solutions since December 2019. In his current role Mr. Cappadona is responsible for oversight of our Organics, Recycling, and professional services operations. From February 2011 through 2019 Mr. Cappadona served as Vice President for Casella Recycling. From March 2003 to 2011 he served as Casella Regional Manager of Northeast Recycling. Prior to joining Casella, Mr. Cappadona served in various recycling management roles from 1990 through 1998. Mr. Cappadona has over 30 years of experience in the waste industry, primarily in recycling. Mr. Cappadona received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts - Lowell.
Sean M. Steves
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT & CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER OF SOLID WASTE OPERATIONS
Sean Steves has served as our Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Solid Waste Operations since July 2022. Mr. Steves most recently served as our Senior Vice President of Operations since 2019. Mr. Steves joined us in April of 2018 as our Vice President of Operational Initiatives. From 2016 until he joined us in 2018, he was the Director of Operations Support for Republic Services. Mr. Steves has 25 years of Operations experience in the waste industry starting as a transfer station Scale Operator. He has held roles of increasing responsibility ever since, including Operations Supervisor, Operations Manager, and General Manager. Mr. Steves holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from DePaul University with a concentration in Sustainable Management.
Kelley J. Robinson
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, HUMAN RESOURCES
Kelley Robinson was named Senior Vice President for Human Resources in August 2021 after serving as Vice President of Human Resources since October 2017. Prior to joining Casella, Mr. Robinson held roles of increasing responsibility in Human Resources at various companies, including a decade with Waste Management. Mr. Robinson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication from Ithaca College and is a certified Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR), while also holding an Executive Compensation certificate from Boston University.
Paul J. Ligon
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT & CHIEF REVENUE OFFICER
Paul Ligon has served as our Senior Vice President of Sustainable Growth since December 2019 and oversees our Sustainable Growth teams including sales, marketing, customer care, sustainability, and community engagement teams. From 2012 through 2019 Mr. Ligon led the development of our Solutions business focused on delivering sustainable services to commercial, industrial, and municipal customers. Prior to joining us, Mr. Ligon was a managing director for Waste Management’s Organic Growth Unit in Houston from 2003 through 2011 and a Senior Scientist with the Tellus Institute for Resource and Environmental Strategies in Boston from 1990 to 2001. Mr. Ligon earned his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from the University of Vermont.
