Item 5.02    Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
On August 12, 2021, Christopher B. Heald provided notice of his decision to retire as Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer of Casella Waste Systems, Inc. (the “Company”), effective March 31, 2022, after a 20 year career with the Company. Mr. Heald plans to stay on in an advisory capacity during a transition period.
